Come as you are. There is no expectation to share—only an invitation to be present, find meaning in the midst of change, and gently open to new beginnings.
Come receive support from the human and horse community in any life transition.
Our support circles focus on stepping away from daily pressures and grounding the nervous system alongside the calm, intuitive feedback of the herd. No talking is forced, and no emotional processing rules are applied. We simply gather to process change at an individual rhythm.
- No prior horse experience is necessary or required.
- We keep circles small (limited to 12 attendees) to preserve intimacy.
- All exercises with horses are hands-on, grounded, and entirely collaborative.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I have no experience with horses?
No horse experience is necessary. All interactions take place safely on the ground (no riding). Our guides provide close supervision, and the horses are calm, experienced, and naturally accustomed to gentle human presence.
Can I attend if my loss occurred years ago?
Absolutely. Grief has no timeline. Whether your loss is fresh from this past week or is an old burden you’ve carried for decades, you are welcome here. This circle honors all stages of transition.
What is the physical environment like?
This experience takes place outdoors at Beyond Liberty, a community-based horse retirement sanctuary and wellness center in La Selva Beach, California. Surrounded by open space, fresh air, and the natural rhythms of the land, participants are invited to slow down, reconnect, and be present in a peaceful, nature-based setting.
Our resident mustangs, Melody and Ruby, live at liberty with voice and choice in their interactions with humans. They may be nearby, join the group, nap in the pasture, explore the property, or simply be horses—grazing, resting, sharing territory, and tending to their own well-being.
Please wear comfortable layers and closed-toe shoes. We also recommend bringing a hat.
How do I cancel or reschedule my spot?
Since attendance is strictly limited to 12 participants per circle to preserve safety and space, we ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you cannot make it so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
Is the space accessible?
Most of our programs take place outdoors on a private ranch with natural terrain, including dirt paths, uneven ground, grass, and pasture areas. Portions of the property can be accessed by wheelchair or other mobility devices; however, not all areas are fully accessible, and restroom facilities are not ADA accessible.
We want everyone to have the information they need to determine whether a program is a good fit for them. If you have any questions about accessibility, mobility, sensory considerations, or other access needs, please feel free to reach out before registering. We are happy to discuss the environment, answer questions, and explore whether accommodations may be available.
