Our Philosophy
Nestled within the heart of our retirement and equine education center lies a profound philosophy inspired by Carolyn Resnick, a distinguished horse communicator, celebrated author, and renowned expert on wild horses. Resnick’s philosophy centers around an unforced connection between horse and human. Her method is built on creating a partnership where the horse feels free to express its natural behaviors without coercion. A fundamental aspect of her approach is “Sharing Territory,” where humans spend time in a calm, neutral state around horses, allowing a bond to develop organically—a bond based on cooperation rather than control.
In her acclaimed autobiography, “Naked Liberty,” Carolyn shares the captivating account of her transformative childhood summers spent living amidst wild horses. It was during these immersive experiences that she gleaned invaluable insights into the art of aligning with a horse’s instincts and employing communication that resonates with their natural essence, ultimately fostering a harmonious relationship built on trust, respect, and the profound concept of obtaining mutual consent.
