Angel Batt
Angel Batt is a master-level social worker whose compassion and unwavering commitment to justice have been guiding forces throughout her career. Her impressive record in nonprofit administration and tireless dedication to the unseen and underprivileged, as well as her advocacy for those whose voices are unheard, once earned her the distinguished honor of being named Woman of the Year for California’s 21st Assembly District.
Angel considers herself a social worker for horses; she has been called to advocate on their behalf and speak their truth.
Angel’s journey with horses began in 2013 when her eight-year-old daughter, battling depression, yearned to be with horses pleaing “I just want to see them and smell them, I don’t need lessons”.
With no other options available, Angel enrolled her daughter in horsemanship lessons, leading to riding lessons, and later, shows and competitions. This experience inspired Angel to create Beyond Liberty, a place where anyone can simply “be” with horses and where retired and non-working horses can feel at home and find peace.
