Former Charro horse (used in traditional Mexican rodeo performances)

Hi, my name is Majesty, and I have a story to tell.

I spent most of my life as a Charro horse, performing at rodeos where my rider pushed me to the limits, showing off roping, wild bull riding, and incredible control. I gave everything I had, but when my body could no longer keep up, I was cast aside. At 24, broken down and in pain, I was sent to a kill lot, destined for slaughter.

But by some miracle, I was rescued and found my way to the PMR Sanctuary, where I’ve no been living for the past seven years.

Being a Charro horse took a toll on me. My legs have suffered, and now my ankles are swollen and painful, making it hard for me to move. It’s called Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Disorder (DSLD), a condition where the ligaments that once held my legs strong have broken down over time.

If you notice my long, shaggy coat and my body thinning, that’s because I also have Cushing’s Disease, a hormonal disorder. It might look a bit scruffy, but I think my sweet face and fluffy coat still have their charm!

Here at PMR, I’ve found a new kind of freedom. I have a loving herd-family and space to roam safely. I can graze when I want, and the incredible people here make sure I get the care I need. With daily medication, supplements, herbal remedies, and CBD to ease my pain, I feel so well cared for and loved.

Personality:  Although Majesty is shy, he has displayed incredible gifts.

He draws out courage & curiosity in children & has located trapped emotions in adults, holding space for their healing process, by choice. He is given safety, love & the utmost consideration throughout his daily life.  ​He is a special soul indeed.
