BEYOND liberty is a retirement sanctuary where horses live naturally—free from pressure, surrounded by care, and supported by a community that honors their well-being and autonomy.

While we are not a rescue organization and do not perform rescues ourselves, we proudly partner with like-minded organizations—aligning our efforts to support the well-being of horses through collaborative care, education, and advocacy.

Who We Serve

We offer lifelong sanctuary through intentional, planned retirement. Horses are accepted by arrangement—with the financial support of a previous owner or guardian who wishes to ensure their horse can live the remainder of their life in peace, safety, and dignity.

This is not a surrender—it’s a meaningful transition into a retired or non-working life, where a horse can live naturally in herd settings, form bonds, move freely, and choose if—or how—they wish to engage with humans or participate in our equine-aligned wellness programs.

Retirement at BEYOND liberty offers the following:

Living Environment

  • Spacious, natural living environments with room to roam
  • Socialization with compatible herd companions
  • Time to acclimate to a new environment and lifestyle

Care & Interaction

  • Consent-based, positive interaction with humans
  • Regular grooming
  • Exceptional individual care, love, and attention

Health & Wellness

  • Regular feeding and supplementation
  • Routine medical, dental, and farrier care
  • 24/7 on-site supervision

Enrichment

  • Optional participation in educational and wellness programs (e.g., meditation, mindful movement, senior citizen outings, etc.)
  • Note: Horses are not ridden.

*Some horses need time to reconnect with instincts, adapt to herd dynamics, and explore a new horse–human dynamic at liberty. This transition is expected and respected.
