Hi, my name is Harmony, and I have a story to share.

I’m a stunning paint quarter horse, standing tall at 15.3 hands and weighing 1,200 pounds. For most of my life, I was a broodmare, producing babies (foals) year after year. When I wasn’t raising babies, I patiently worked as a lesson horse, teaching countless children how to ride and care for a horse. I gave everything I had, both as a mother and a teacher.

6 years ago, when I was 26, my life changed. My owner’s health was failing, and they no longer had the means to care for me in my golden years. That’s when I came to the sanctuary, where I’ve found a new purpose and a peaceful home.

The years of hard work took a toll on my body, though. Injuries from my days as a lesson horse left me with lameness in my front legs and left hind leg. I live with daily pain, but thanks to the caring people here, I receive regular pain relief and all the love I need to stay comfortable.

Now, I’ve taken on a new role as the leader of the herd. As the dominant mare, I keep my fellow horses safe and in harmony, just like my name suggests. I have a natural ability to set boundaries and guide the herd with calm strength, ensuring everyone knows their place and feels secure.

Even after all these years, I still have so much to offer. I continue to teach children the importance of good horse care, leadership, and the power of softness, no matter their size. I may be getting older, but my gifts and wisdom are timeless. I’m grateful for the sanctuary that has become my home, but I need your help to continue living out my days in peace and comfort. Harmony is an affectionate, quiet & confident individual. Her peacefulness, strength & charm are incredible assets to the Herd. She also enjoys when we offer belly scratches. So much so, that she will return the favor by giving you a gentle nose nuzzle…so sweet!
